Seated Wheelchair Exercises that are Healthy for Your Body

Many people believe that when you are in a wheelchair you are not capable of doing any exercise of which they are always wrong. A person who is in a wheelchair and the one that is not in a wheelchair they both can do exercises. We, therefore, have different kinds of exercises that one can do when in a wheelchair. The discussion below is on the seated wheelchair exercises that will help you stay fit.

We have different types of wheelchairs of which among them is the manual wheelchair, this manual wheelchair is important since it enables one to do some exercises when they are moving the wheelchair by themselves. A manual wheelchair is the one that you will have to do the wheeling with your own hands and by doing that, you will be doing an exercise when in your wheelchair. Since by moving the wheelchair you will be doing some exercise one should always do that more often.

A person that is seated in a wheelchair is capable of bending sideways that is right and left. When you are in a wheelchair, it means that you will not be able to stand and by side bending you will not be required to stand you instead do the bendings while seated in a wheelchair. Since you will be bending the upper part only, you will be required to bend on your front, right then left and repeat the same for more time and by doing this, your body will be fit. By doing that you will be making the upper side of your body as strong as possible.

When you do exercises that help to keep fit to the upper part of the body, the blood might not flow quite well and now one should do knee lifting to ensure that also the lower part keeps feet. You will not be able to lift your knee unless you control the lower part of your body. To make sure that the lower part is also okay, you will have to lift your knee and you will be required to lift your legs one after another for some period of time and these will ensure that your body is fit now!.

In addition, strengthening your arm is also a seated wheelchair exercise that will help you stay fit. Here, you will be required to move your arms in different directions that is, to the right, left and even in front for some minutes. Since your arms are on the upper part, when moving the arms to different directions you will be required to take control of the upper part of the body and this will keep you fit.
